Dylan Samuelian
I am currently a PhD student in Mathematics at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland). I completed my thesis at the Chair of Partial Differential Equations (PDE) under the supervision of Prof. Joachim Krieger. I defended my thesis and obtained my Ph.D. in June 2026.

Education
PhD, Mathematics, 2021-2026.
Complementary Certificate in Computer Science (30 ECTS), University of Geneva, 2020-2021.
Bachelor & Master (120 & 90 ECTS), Mathematics, EPFL, 2015-2021.
Research Interests
My research focuses on the asymptotic analysis of finite-energy solutions (also known as Type II solutions) to non-linear dispersive and parabolic equations, under certain symmetry assumptions.
Studying such equations contributes to a better understanding of physical phenomena such as rogue waves. Closely related mathematical models also arise in technological applications, notably in describing defects in liquid crystals used in LCD technology, or in studying and optimizing the data-writing mechanism in magnetic devices such as MRAM.
